Why Keto/Low-Carb?
At Savvy Keto, we’re big fans of cutting carbs — not joy. The keto diet is a high-fat, very low-carb way of eating that flips your body’s fuel source from carbs to fat. That switch (called ketosis) can lead to weight loss, steadier energy, fewer cravings, and better blood sugar control — which is especially important if you’re managing or trying to prevent diabetes. It may even help reduce inflammation and improve insulin sensitivity. People often say they feel sharper and more energized on keto, which, let’s be honest, is a nice bonus.
Now, let’s clear something up: keto and low-carb are cousins, not twins. Keto keeps carbs super low to maintain ketosis, while low-carb diets are more flexible and may not always get you into that fat-burning zone. That said, both focus on ditching the carb overload, and both can help with weight loss and health. We’ll probably use the terms interchangeably on this site — not to confuse you, but because the advice we give often applies to both.
And one more thing before you dive in: we’re not doctors (just very enthusiastic nerds about this stuff). So if you’re thinking about making major changes to how you eat — especially if you have a medical condition — check in with your healthcare provider first.
